“Pride Month is so incredibly important to me. As someone who grew up under the Section 28 law in the UK, a law that meant children couldn’t be taught about anything other than heterosexuality, this affected my view on sexuality in particular my own. The lack of available education damaged so many LGBT+ people of my age. Now it’s so important to me to help people not have to go through what I did and working at the University and seeing how inclusive and welcoming it is makes me so proud to work here and be part of the LGBT+ community.”
"People deserve to be who they are and working at Swansea University I get to do that. As one of the co-chairs for the LGBT+ Staff Network my driving aim is to provide help, support and a space for LGBT+ people to know that they are welcome at Swansea Uni."
