The University Health Centre is an NHS General Medical Practice, based on the University campus and provides friendly, comprehensive medical services focussing on the needs of students.
Services include advice on contraception, pregnancy, sexual health, emergency contraception, asthma, BP checks, minor injuries, dressings, urine infections, diabetes and a travel clinic, as well as emotional health.
It is important to register with a doctor as soon as you arrive in Swansea in order to access NHS care. All students living in University residences (on campus, Beck House and Hendrefoelan Village) are required to register with a local GP within two weeks of arrival. You may register with a doctor off campus if you prefer.
PLEASE NOTE THAT REGISTRATION FOR THE HEALTH CENTRE IS SEPARATE FROM REGISTRATION FOR THE DENTAL SURGERY.

Surgery Hours
The surgery is open throughout the year Monday to Friday (except Bank Holidays) 8.30am - 12.30pm and 1.30pm - 6pm (although a GP is on call until 6.30pm)
All appointments, (or any other queries) are accessed via Ask My GP (available from 8am – 3pm), contact the surgery via the link on the Health Centre’s website home page. You will be allocated to the appropriate clinician/admin who will decide whether you need to have a face-to-face appointment or whether the problem can be dealt with over the phone or via video call. For any urgent problems outside these times up until 6.30pm, ring 01792 295321.

For Out of Hours service when the surgery is closed, there will be a free number for patients to use to access medical advice or access to medical services when GP surgeries are closed - the number is 111
