Dr Natalie Wint is currently a Senior Lecturer within the School of Aerospace, Civil, Electrical, General and Mechanical Engineering at Swansea University.
Natalie is head of the Engineering Foundation Year and has particular interest in inclusivity and diversity within the discipline. She has published conference proceedings and journal articles in engineering education research and is member of several SEFI (European Society for Engineering Education) Special Interest Groups. She is also on the committee of the new researchers branch of the UK and Ireland Engineering Education Research Network. Her interests include: the philosophy of education; workplace skills; and the social construction of engineering.
She also has experience in studying the corrosion of metallic alloy coatings used within the steel industry and the use of ion exchange resin-based corrosion inhibitors within organic coatings. She has the ability to use state of the art electrochemical equipment such as SVET, SKP and SKPFM.
Natalie's work involves working closely with industrial partners such as Tata Steel, BASF and UPol and involves collaborations with world leading universities within the field such as McMaster University (Ontario), the University of Virginia, the University of Southern Mississippi, and the Fontana Corrosion Center (The Ohio State University). She has also completed work alongside The Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology.
