Nigel is a member of the biochemistry and genetics teaching staff and deputy programme director for biochemistry. His teaching focuses on immunology, fundamental lab skills and the development of key transferrable skills. His research interest is in the field of immunometabolism, looking at how immune cell function can be linked to their metabolic profile. His pedagogical research focuses on the use of eLearning tools to enhance student engagement and the use of these tools to improve feedback provision. Nigel is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), is currently completing a PGCert in Teaching in Higher Education and acts as a reviewer for the Advance HE National Teaching Fellowship Scheme (NTFS)
