Laurie is a lecturer within the Strategic Operations group and member of the Emerging Markets Research Centre (EMaRC) and Innovation Lab (I-Lab) at the School of Management, Swansea University, Wales, UK.
He has 15+ years of management experience in a variety of roles working within industry on numerous projects in finance, manufacturing, operations, and business transformation within public, private and defence organisations, prior to completing his PhD.
Laurie completed his PhD in Information Systems within the School of Management at Swansea University (UK). He also holds an an M.Sc. in Computer Science and a BEng in Computer Systems Engineering. He has taught a range of technology focussed topics at undergraduate and postgraduate levels up to MBA.
Laurie has published a range of research publications within leading academic journals in subjects such as: Artificial Intelligence, Industry 4.0, IS project failure, Supply Chain Management and Digital Marketing, that have been widely cited in the academic literature. He is a reviewer for the: International Journal of Information Management; Annals of Operations Research and Government International Quarterly and Government Information Quarterly.
