Cigdem joined the Accounting and Finance Department at School of Management in September 2018 as a Lecturer in Finance. Prior to that, Cigdem held research-focused positions in University of East Anglia and University of Hertfordshire.
Cigdem joined the Accounting and Finance Department at School of Management in September 2018 as a Lecturer in Finance. Prior to that, Cigdem held research-focused positions in University of East Anglia and University of Hertfordshire.
Cigdem has experience in designing, leading and delivering a wide range of introductory and more advanced Economics and Accounting and Finance (mainly Introduction to Economics, Economics for International Business, Management Accounting, Financial Accounting) and Quantitative Methods courses.
Cigdem’s research is interdisciplinary and lies in the fields of labour economics, economics of gender, work and employment, household finance and equality and diversity across corporate boards. Cigdem has been working on topics such as work transitions and wellbeing, job quality, gender pay gap, occupational gender segregation, domestic violence and its impact on female employment, discrimination in the UK housing market.
