An EngD is a 4 year PhD level qualification where the research project is determined and sponsored by an industrial partner. The EngD provides training in business, management and leadership skills to enhance employability and create leaders within industry.
Benefits of studying an EngD is that students are paid £20,000 per annum and many receive job offers on completion. Our EngD graduates have achieved a 97% employment rate and many of our alumni are now leaders of large companies.
Our EngD projects are focused on our established areas of engineering expertise in Computational Modelling, Functional Coatings and Materials and Manufacturing.
Our Materials and Manufacturing Academy (M2A), who run our Engineering Doctorates, is partly funded by the European Social Fund through the Welsh Government.
