Our Physics Department at Swansea University offers a curriculum based on the research findings of our world-leading experts.
We carry out research in experimental, applied and theoretical physics. Our work is supported by grants from EPSRC, STFC, the EU, The Royal Society, HEFCW and various industrial, charity and government sources.
The global nature of the research means that we have worldwide links and collaborators, including access to large-scale facilities such as CERN. Our specialisms and facilities are adopted into our curriculum in both our course content and the range of final year projects available to students. We have examples of students studying in CERN or gaining research internships within the department and our specialist courses stretch students into understanding the demands of research – whether that be in physics or closely aligned disciplines.
