TRAVELLING BY CAR

As part of our efforts to be a zero carbon university by 2035, we encourage students and staff to choose active and sustainable travel options wherever possible. For those living further afield then we recommend the local bus services.

If you are a student and require reasonable adjustments for medical issues, live out of the Swansea University bus zone area or have dependent children in our crèche, you may be eligible for a parking permit.

PLEASE NOTE - Parking on campus between the hours of 8am and 4pm Monday to Friday (Core Hours) is for pay to park and annual permit holders only. Visitors can park on campus outside of the core hours, and must pay to park.

Introduction of Automatic Number Plate (ANPR) recognition system across our campuses

From 1 June 2023, both the Bay and Singleton Park Campus will be covered by an Automatic Numberplate Recognition System.

There is no parking for students on campus between 8am until 4pm, Monday to Friday (except for those with a valid permit - see below)
Student out of hours permits are available at a cost of £20 per year, allowing students to park on campus from 4pm to 8am, Monday to Friday and on weekends free of charge.
Between 4pm and 8am Monday to Friday and over weekends, those without permits can pay to park.

Parking near Singleton Park Campus

The Recreation Ground Car Park

There are a number of Pay and Display parking spaces available for staff and students and visitors at the Swansea Council run Recreation Ground to the east of Singleton Park Campus (around a 5 minute walk). If you hold a student or staff parking permit, you can park here for free. If you do not hold a permit, you need to pay and display.

The Pub on The Pond Car Park

There are a number of Pay and Display parking spaces available for use at The Pub on The Pond to the west of campus (about a 2 minute walk). Staff and student parking permits are not valid for this car park - you should pay and display if you park here.
