Four years of collaboration between Swansea University and GE Healthcare has advanced the treatment of ovarian cancer by allowing detailed analysis of drugs designed to target the disease. The collaboration with GE Healthcare began in 2015 with GE Healthcare providing advanced analysis equipment called a BiacoreTM T200, which measures binding interactions between molecules, allowing researchers at Swansea to perform fast and detailed analysis of ADCs.

Swansea University’s School of Management is rolling out a project across Wales to support businesses through the product development process. The ‘Developing Innovation Performance of Firms and Supply Chain Clusters’ (DIPFSCC) programme helps businesses of any size to develop new products or services, and can also introduce businesses to funds that can support their new product or service development, including testing, industrial research and commercialisation.

Swansea University Medical School is a top 3 UK Medical School and is committed to ensuring the research, innovation and expertise within the School is used to prevent ill health, develop better treatments and be at the forefront of new technologies which can be used to improve care in the NHS. The School is currently leading a technology project that will help speed up health innovation in Wales and businesses are encouraged to be a part of it.

At Swansea University we encourage all our students to act upon their entrepreneurial flair to enhance their own experience while with us and increase their employment opportunities when they graduate. Recently a group of students took part in a Hackathon in collaboration with Swansea City Football Club, aiming to come up with a technological innovation that could drive new or increased revenue.

To facilitate organisational growth within South West Wales and beyond, a new engagement network, Swansea LINC was launched in 2018. Having organised a diverse series of informative networking events and distributed regular communications, this initiative has already generated significant opportunities for collaboration and is going from strength-to-strength.
