The Postgraduate Research Student Handbook contains all information relevant to Postgraduate Research in the College of Arts and Humanities (COAH).

Some information in this handbook links to the University Academic Guide which contains important regulations, policies and procedures relating to your studies. You should also refer to the University Academic Handbook – Postgraduate Research (available shortly) which refers to Academic Regulations, Policies and Procedures.   As a Swansea University student it is your responsibility to familiarise yourself with the information contained within the College and University Handbooks.

If you have any questions about your studies and cannot find what you need in the Handbooks, please contact the Graduate Research Centre Office or MyUniHub.

In order to support the diverse range of research activities carried out by our postgraduate students, the Graduate Research Centre provides the following allowances for conference participation and research trips during the term of enrolment (not per year):

PhD and MPhil students: £600

MA by Research students: £200

How do I apply for funding?

Please complete the ‘Request for Research Support Funding’ form (GC-001a) – obtain the signature of your first supervisor and submit to the Graduate Research Centre office either in person or by email (coahpgr@swansea.ac.uk). You must always apply for funding well in advance of the trip or event for which you are requesting the money.  For further information, please contact Liz Whitwell (coahpgr@swansea.ac.uk.)
