Compete for you chance to win a Maes B ticket

Shwmae Su'mae Day - 15 October - is a national celebration. The aim is simple: to start each conversation with Shwmae ("Hi there" in Welsh). It's celebrated across Wales and is a time for people to come together to celebrate and promote the Welsh language.

This year, Swansea University's Welsh Affairs Officer Gwern Dafis has brought together Welsh Officers from Wales' Student Unions to organise a competition for Welsh-speaking students studying at universities in Wales. There are eight cateogries and entrants will need to send their entries to shwmaesumae@swansea-union.co.uk by Friday, 28th January 2022.

Year 12 and 13 pupils from Welsh medium schools will select the final three in each competition. The three winning entries will appear on this page on Monday, 22nd November before announcing the winners at an online event on Friday, 26 November.

1st Prize - Maes B week ticket
2nd Prize - £30 to spend in your Students' Union
3rd Prize - £20 to spend in your Students' Union

This competition is funded by the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol's Small Grants Fund.
