The Governance and Nominations Committee is responsible for reviewing and advising the Council on the University's governance arrangements, ensuring the University pursues good practice and complies with external governance requirements. The Committee is also responsible for recommending to Council the appointment of lay officers and lay members to Council. During the 2019-20 academic session, the committee held five meetings including a special meeting that focused on the implementation of recommendations from the External Effectiveness Review.
